Solar self-consumption for apartments

EcoFlow, a Chinese company founded in 2017, specialises in portable and sustainable energy solutions, such as power stations and solar generators for both indoor and outdoor use.

The new STREAM Ultra is a plug-and-play residential solar system designed to revolutionise self-consumption in apartments, rental homes, and small outdoor spaces. Unlike traditional photovoltaic systems — which require construction work, permits, and professional installation — the STREAM Ultra connects directly to a 120V socket and starts operating within minutes.

This system combines a 1.92 kWh LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery with a built-in microinverter, delivering up to 1,200W of AC (alternating current) power, ready for immediate use and surplus storage. It is expandable up to 11.52 kWh (with six stackable batteries) and supports up to 3,200W of solar input, thanks to its 4 MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) technology, which maximises energy production.

Key Features of STREAM ULTRA Solar Panels

Operating Modes:

  • Standalone STREAM Ultra: Up to 2,000W of solar input, 1,200W for direct consumption, and the remainder stored in the battery;
  • Standalone Microinverter: Up to 1,200W for direct use, with no storage;
  • Combined System: Up to 3,200W with hybrid operation (simultaneous storage and consumption).

The STREAM Ultra system is integrated into the EcoFlow OASIS platform, which uses AI to optimise consumption and extend battery life. Key features include: Real-time monitoring; Time-of-use optimisation; Battery health diagnostics; Backup power preparation; 24/7 multilingual virtual assistant.

Certified with NEMA 4, this system is suitable for outdoor use, operating safely in temperatures from -20°C to 45°C. Its discreet design, free from an industrial look, fits seamlessly into balconies, patios, or small gardens.

The product is launching initially in Utah, USA, with planned expansion into other markets, including Europe, in the near future.
