Food Safety

Keeping food safe from farm to fork by ensuring hygienic practices and traceability at every step of the supply chain is essential to the food industry (e.g. primary production, transport, storage, various service providers, among many others).

Therefore, it is considered very important to implement a food safety management system in order to guarantee to the end consumer that the company and its stakeholders are able to supply safe products, in accordance with regulatory and legal requirements, and the Codex Alimentarius.

Occupational Health and Safety

CE Marking

The sale and free movement in the European Economic Area of certain products (New Approach Directives - Link) requires the CE marking, which will ensure its compliance with the essential requirements defined by European legislation with regard to the health and safety of users and consumers.

As a general rule, this mark is the responsibility of the manufacturer or his authorized representative established in the European Economic Area and, exceptionally and with due justification, the person responsible for placing the product on the Community market.

In situations of non-compliance, the entities responsible for the respective control can take the appropriate measures (such as the withdrawal of products from the market or fines).

In fact, it is important to check whether the products to be placed on the European Economic Area are within the scope of one of the directives that requires the CE marking.

Forest Stewardship Council

The Forest Stewardship Council standard (FSC) defines the principles and criteria for environmentally responsible, socially beneficial and economically viable forest management, from extraction to commercialization of forest-based products to the final consumer.

FSC includes all types of forest spaces present in Portugal (plantations, forests, among others). It is also applicable in different scales (large industrial owners and small owners) and species (eucalyptus or pine plantations and cork or holm oaks).

In general, this certification facilitates access to the ecomarket for products from forestry sector organizations.
